We tested the Badlands trim and found that it has a hefty steering and firm ride that made it feel truck-like, but not particularly smooth and steady on the highway. Its off-road abilities exceeded expectations, but it still has limitations before attempting difficult trails like the Rubicon Trail.

The Bronco Sport has two engine options: a three-cylinder and a four-cylinder. The three-cylinder gets 25 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, while the four-cylinder drops to 21 mpg city and 26 highway.
