Powertrain coverage that stays with you for as long as you own the vehicle.

Most warranties end on a date or a mileage count, and then you’re on your own. Warranty Forever works differently. It’s powertrain coverage included with qualifying new and pre-owned vehicles from participating dealers, and it lasts as long as you own the vehicle.

This post explains what it is, what it covers, how you keep it active and what to do when you service your vehicle somewhere else. Dave Sinclair Ford says it is the only dealer in St. Louis to offer it.

Quick answer: Warranty Forever is powertrain coverage with no time or mileage limit for as long as you own a qualifying vehicle. You keep it active by completing the customary maintenance in your Warranty Forever agreement.

What Warranty Forever Is

Warranty Forever is a limited vehicle warranty that covers the powertrain on qualifying new and pre-owned vehicles. It’s included with the vehicle, so there’s no separate charge.

Coverage has no time or mileage limit. It lasts for as long as you own the vehicle, as long as you keep up with the maintenance in your agreement.

What It Covers

The covered parts fall into three groups: engine components, transmission components and drive components. The list includes major internal engine parts, gear sets, torque converters, axle shafts and wheel bearings, among others.

The rule is simple. If a part isn’t on the covered list, it isn’t covered. Read your agreement and the list on our Warranty Forever page so you know exactly what’s included.

How You Keep It Active

You keep coverage active by completing the customary maintenance outlined in your Warranty Forever agreement. That usually means regular oil changes and the scheduled services your vehicle calls for.

Keep your receipts and records. If you ever file a claim, clear documentation makes it easier.

St. Louis driver tip: Put your next maintenance date in your phone calendar the day you buy. It’s the easiest way to keep coverage in place.

Servicing Somewhere Else

You can choose to service your vehicle outside of Dave Sinclair Ford. The key requirement is that you call and pre-authorize each scheduled maintenance service before it’s done.

Choose a licensed repair facility. Have your agreement number or the last eight digits of your VIN ready, along with the date, the shop’s name, the work planned and your current mileage.

Why It Matters When You Buy

Powertrain repairs are among the most expensive a vehicle can need. Coverage that stays with you removes a big unknown from ownership.

It also adds value on the pre-owned side, where shoppers often wonder about what happens after the first year or two.
