Description
Parents seeking a practical and spacious minivan for young children will appreciate the Odyssey’s thoughtful layout. The third-Row split-bench simplifies Car seat placement, while power-sliding doors and a power liftgate streamline busy mornings. In St. Louis, where unpredictable weather and active family schedules are common, the Odyssey’s dual-zone climate control and rear air conditioning keep every passenger comfortable, regardless of season or seat location.
Under the hood, the Odyssey uses a 3.5L V6 SOHC i-VTEC 24V engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, delivering smooth acceleration even with a full cabin. This powertrain helps the minivan stay responsive during city errands or long highway trips, while the EPA-estimated 19 city and 28 highway MPG ensures families spend less time at the pump. Quiet cabin engineering and stable handling reduce fatigue on extended journeys.
Safety is central to the Odyssey’s family appeal, offering peace of mind for parents focused on protecting what matters most. Key features include adaptive cruise control with Low-Speed Follow, blind spot information system, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and comprehensive airbag coverage including dual front, side, knee, and overhead airbags. The LATCH system supports secure Car seat installation across multiple seating positions, and the rearview camera, parking sensors, and rear seat reminder further support driver awareness and child safety.
Feature content in the Touring trim elevates daily convenience: remote start, power moonroof, navigation with Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, heated front seats, rear entertainment system with CabinControl A/V remote, and a premium sound system with rear audio controls and headphones. The memory seat, HomeLink garage transmitter, and automatic temperature control make every drive more comfortable and controlled, while the split-folding third Row adapts easily to changing passenger and cargo needs.
Among family minivans, the Odyssey Touring stands out against competitors like the Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Pacifica by blending Car seat-friendly seating, advanced safety tech, and seamless smartphone connectivity. While the Sienna offers hybrid efficiency and the Pacifica touts unique storage, the Odyssey’s reputation for reliability, smooth V6 performance, and robust warranty coverage make it a high-value choice for families prioritizing peace of mind and flexibility.
How many Car seats Fit in the back? The Odyssey’s roomy second and third rows allow multiple Car seats to be installed using the LATCH system. Is this safe for kids and teens? Yes, with active safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and blind spot monitoring, it helps protect every passenger. Does the Odyssey include a rear seat reminder? Yes, it alerts the driver to check the rear seats before exiting.
