Description
Parents looking for a flexible, efficient family SUV will find the Taos well-suited for busy routines around St. Louis and beyond. The cabin offers a thoughtful blend of comfort and utility, with CloudTex & Cloth seating and a spacious layout that accommodates growing children, sports equipment, or groceries. Features like remote keyless entry and heated front seats simplify hectic mornings, making every family transition smoother and more comfortable.
Driving the Taos is a relaxed experience, thanks to its 1.5L I4 Turbocharged engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The front-wheel drive setup provides stable handling, and the turbocharged powertrain ensures responsive acceleration for merging onto highways or navigating city traffic. With an EPA estimated 28 MPG city and 36 MPG highway, the Taos keeps fuel stops minimal, letting families focus on the journey rather than the next fill-up.
Safety is a top priority in this SUV, with a suite of active features designed to offer peace of mind and protect what matters most. The Active Blind Spot Monitor helps alert drivers to vehicles in adjacent lanes, while the rearview camera simplifies backing out of busy driveways or parking lots. Dual front and side impact airbags, plus overhead airbag coverage, provide layered protection throughout the cabin. Electronic Stability Control, ABS brakes, and rain-sensing wipers further enhance confidence during unpredictable weather and everyday driving.
The Taos 1.5T SE is equipped to keep families comfortable and connected. Heated front comfort seats and a heated steering wheel make chilly mornings cozier, while MIB3 Composition Media keeps everyone entertained with SiriusXM and HD radio. Power driver seat adjustments and a leather shift knob add extra refinement. A roof rack provides extra utility for family trips, and the split folding rear seat expands cargo space for larger hauls. The cargo area retractable cover keeps items secure while on the go.
Compared to rivals like the Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross, the Taos stands out for its combination of fuel efficiency, comfort features, and advanced safety technology. Its turbocharged engine offers smoother acceleration, while standard amenities like heated seats and rain-sensing wipers are often reserved for higher trims in competitors. Volkswagen’s reputation for build quality and a transferable 4-year/50,000-mile powertrain warranty add to its high-value appeal for families prioritizing long-term security.
How easy is it to install a Car seat in the Taos? The rear seat is designed for straightforward installation, with ample space for child seats and boosters. Is this SUV safe for New drivers in the family? Advanced safety features like blind spot monitoring and electronic stability control help protect both New and experienced drivers.
